Live With Intent…

Live with Intention! What does that actually mean?

Intention is defined as a purpose or aim. What is your purpose or aim? Believe it or not, the intentions that you set, even if you are unaware of them, have a profound influence on how you live your life. While actions may be similar, the end results quite likely will be vastly different based on the intention that lay behind the it. For example, let’s say there are two people who are starting their own business. Both of those people are focusing on wellness. The businesses that they are creating will provide programs and services to help individuals create and maintain habits that will promote mind-body wellness.  So…what’s the difference? One of those people is creating that business with the intention of capitalizing on the boom in the wellness industry. Their focus is to make money. The other person is creating their business with the intention of helping individuals become the best possible version of themselves.  While the businesses may seem to be quite similar, the outcomes will be very different simply because of intention. The energy that is put out into the Universe is received by the people that each business is trying to serve. What do you think is the difference in the energy that those two business owners are putting out there? What do you think might happen as a result?

Our intentions motivate us.

Our intentions help us to set our focus.

Our intentions give us purpose.

Our intentions drive our actions.

Our intentions reflect our being.

While I may have different intentions in different situations, I choose to live my life with one foundational intention. That intention impacts all the other intentions that I may set. That intention is a part of everything that I am and everything that I do.

That intention is:

“Do the most that I can with the gifts that I’m given in the moment I’m in for the greatest good of all.

What is your intention?

Set it! Believe it! Live it! Love it!

Finding Balance…

Balance:

*Physical equilibrium*Stability produced by even distribution of weight on each side of a vertical axis*aesthetically pleasing integration of elements*mental and emotional steadiness

How do you define balance? To me balance means that all of the parts of me…physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, are all in sync with one another.  Defining it is the easy part. The harder part, creating that sense of equilibrium. Believe it or not, it’s all about equality. Each of these “parts” of ourselves need to be given equal attention. To spend too much time focusing on one and not the other is enough to throw off our balance. What are you doing to take care of all of your parts?

Here are suggestions for what you can do every day to align your parts and create balance:

Exercise – just 30 minutes a day of moderate exercise will help to keep your physical body healthy.

Think – taking time to learn something new each day can strengthen your mind and keep it active. Read…do a crossword puzzle…listen to a podcast…

Feel – Allow yourself to actually feel your emotions. Express what you are feeling and move through it. Journal…talk to someone…let yourself go there

Meditate – just as little as 5 -10 minutes a day of “quiet time” will help you to get in touch with your inner self.  We all have time for what we believe to be important.

Finding the time to maintain balance is essential to fostering and maintaining optimal wellness!  What can you start to do today to bring back balance to your life? Choose one thing that you can do…and just do it!

Make a commitment to yourself for yourself!
